Process Technology, an American leader in the design, innovation, and manufacturing of heating equipment, is looking for a Product Development Engineer to manage the design, prototyping, and testing of new products and components through the Stage Gate process. Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, and develop next-generation products and innovative solutions for the metal plating and semiconductor industries.
  • Apply mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and related knowledge and experience to best develop design solutions.
  • Research, design, and test materials and components for use in equipment development.
  • Manage new product development projects through design solutions which meet required engineering, manufacturing, and financial targets.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, operations, finance, and other groups to ensure product design for manufacturability and market needs.
  • Review product documentation for accuracy.
  • Serve as project manager on moderately complex design projects.
  • Other essential responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in a product development engineering role.
  • Project management training or certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred), and MS Office.
  • Experience with LabView, SEM, ICP-MS, or other analytical tools/methods.
  • Expert in FEA, fluid flow, and thermodynamics.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated, results-oriented, and high energy.

  • Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals and specifications to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Prepare and update designs, drawings, BOMs, and related documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.

  • Develop the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design equipment and software.
  • Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-4 years of experience in a related engineering role.
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling software; Solidworks preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software systems including, Microsoft Office (including Project), CFD and ERP systems (Syteline preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and mechanics.

  • Prepare and update designs, drawings, BOMs, and related documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.

  • Draft detailed drawings to request parts for fabrication.
  • Interface and program PLC/HMI (Automation Direct, Allen Bradley) including design of schematics and electrical cabinets./li>
  • Work within MRP system to manage and maintain engineering information.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related engineering role.
  • Proficient with PLCs, ladder and control logic.
  • Knowledge of NEC and other code requirements.
  • Proficient in Automation Direct, Allen Bradley, AutoCAD, and RSLogix5/500/5000 preferred.
  • Knowledge of FEA, fluid flow, and thermodynamics is preferred.
